Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 15 October 2026

1. What this policy covers

1.1 This policy applies to everyone who uses Club Giraffe: our website, our WhatsApp conversations, our emails and the introductions we make. It sits alongside our Terms and Conditions, the Club Pledge and our Privacy Policy. If this policy and the Terms differ, the Terms apply.

1.2 Club Giraffe Ltd is a private matchmaking club. We introduce adults who are looking for a long-term relationship, and that is the only use of the service we support.

2. What you must not do

2.1 Break the law, or use Club Giraffe to help anyone else do so.

2.2 Give false information or pretend to be someone else, including a false name, age, photo, relationship status or identity.

2.3 Harass, threaten, pressure, stalk or abuse anyone, including our team.

2.4 Ask another member for money, gifts, loans, investments or financial details, or offer to pay or be paid for an introduction, a date or a relationship.

2.5 Use Club Giraffe for sexual services, escorting, companionship for payment, or any adult content.

2.6 Sell, advertise, recruit or promote anything to members, including a business, a product, a cause, or another dating or social service.

2.7 Share another member's name, number, photo or contact details, or the fact that they are a member, with anyone else.

2.8 Collect, copy or scrape information about our members or our service, try to get into our systems, or interfere with how they work.

2.9 Use Club Giraffe if you are under 18, or apply on behalf of someone who is.

2.10 Use Club Giraffe for anything other than genuine personal introductions, for example research, journalism or testing, without our written agreement.

2.11 Take part in, arrange or profit from human trafficking, modern slavery, sexual exploitation, coercion or controlling behaviour, or use Club Giraffe on behalf of anyone who is controlling you or forcing you to take part.

2.12 Share, request, describe or encourage sexual material involving anyone under 18, or sexualise children in any way. We have zero tolerance for this.

2.13 Use Club Giraffe for fraud, romance scams, extortion or blackmail.

3. Meeting safely

3.1 We expect every member to follow the Club Pledge, including meeting somewhere public the first time. If anything about an introduction makes you uncomfortable, tell us straight away.

4. What we do if this policy is broken

4.1 We may stop making introductions, suspend or end a membership without refund as set out in the Terms (sections 3.6 and 4.6), and remove anything you have sent through our channels.

4.2 Where we believe a crime has been committed, or that someone is at risk, we may tell the police or another relevant authority. This includes, where relevant, the National Crime Agency, the Internet Watch Foundation, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and their equivalents elsewhere. We never copy or pass on child sexual abuse material. We report it straight away and end the membership. Our approach to requests from the authorities is on our police and authorities page.

4.3 If we are worried that a member is being coerced, controlled or exploited, we will put their safety first. We may contact them privately, point them to specialist support, and involve the authorities, rather than only ending their membership.

4.4 How we look out for breaches. Club Giraffe is not an open platform. There are no public profiles, no search, and members cannot message each other or upload photos or files through us. A person on our team reviews every application before anyone is invited. Each applicant agrees to the Club Pledge when they apply, and confirms they are 18 or over before any conversation begins. Our conversations with members are guided and happen only on WhatsApp, and our team reviews what members tell us before any introduction is made. We make every introduction ourselves. Our systems flag safety and welfare concerns to our team, and we record and review each concern raised with us.

5. Reporting a concern

5.1 If you see behaviour that breaks this policy, or you are worried about a member or an introduction, email hello@clubgiraffe.com. A person on our team reads every report, and we handle it in confidence. You can also write to safety@clubgiraffe.com, which reaches the same team.

5.2 Concerns about a child at risk, trafficking, coercion or exploitation are treated as urgent. If someone is in immediate danger, please call the emergency services first: 999 in the UK or 911 in the US.

5.3 If you or someone you know may be a victim of trafficking or modern slavery, you can also contact the Modern Slavery Helpline in the UK on 08000 121 700, or the National Human Trafficking Hotline in the US on 1-888-373-7888.

6. Changes and who we are

6.1 We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
