Every member agrees to this before they join. It's why the club works.
The pledge
What you agree to.

I will be honest.
About who I am, including my identity, age and relationship status. I will not pretend to be anyone else, and I will answer Club Giraffe's questions properly.

I will keep everyone safe.
I will meet somewhere public the first time. I will never pressure anyone for anything they haven't offered, and if someone says no, that is the end of it. If someone's behaviour concerns me, I will tell Club Giraffe promptly.

I will treat people with respect.
Every introduction, and everyone at Club Giraffe, whether or not it goes anywhere.

I will keep members' details private.
What I learn about other members stays private, including that they are a member at all. I will use someone's phone number or contact details only to arrange and continue contact with them.

I will keep an open mind.
I will give every introduction a proper chance, even when the person isn't who I pictured.

I will show up, and speak up if it's not for me.
I will meet each introduction within a month, turn up when I say I will, and reply in good time. If I decide it isn't for me, I will say so, and I will never disappear without a word.

I will keep to the process.
I will tell Club Giraffe how each date went, and let Club Giraffe make the introductions.

I will keep it about meeting someone.
I will not use Club Giraffe to sell or promote anything, or to ask another member for money.
Our promise
What we promise you.

We will keep what you tell us private.
It stays with the few people on our team who need it. We never sell it and never use it for advertising. The only thing another member sees is the introduction itself.

We will introduce you with care.
A person on our team confirms every introduction, with a note on why we think you'll get on. There are no profiles to browse, for you or for anyone else.

We will be honest with you.
We'll be upfront about how we work, including where AI is involved, and we will never promise you a particular outcome.

We will look after you.
Everyone in the club is verified before they join. If someone behaves badly, tell us and we will act.
None of this is complicated. Mostly we're asking you to be kind, and to be honest when it's hard.
People get nervous, and dates go wrong. That is part of it. Bad behaviour is another matter: stalking, lying, disappearing without a word, not turning up, or not being serious about meeting someone. Breaching the Club Pledge may result in your membership being ended.
